March 2008: Marika O'Baire-Kark

Thank you so very much, fellow Toastmasters, for allowing me to be
Toastmaster of the month. I am greatly honored.

On our days stretching and re-creating time, visiting family and friends,
travelling to
Taos, New Mexico; Orlando, Florida; Whidbey Island,
Washington
; and maybe soon to Ireland and Brazil, and many light years
in
consciousness, we look forward to coming home to participate in
Toasters-R-Us. We never know how your will inspire and delight us, what

you
will talk about or how in a hundred ways you will show caring and
support to
each other. It is all a delight to us.

Marika O'Baire-Kark

TM of 2008.03, Marica

February 2008: Yi Wu

Yi is a true believer in "living every moment of your life". Her most fulfilling moments are always those when she breaks her own boundaries. To Yi, life is like a trail meandering through the mountains. There is always another great view when you cross the ridges in front. Through her journey so far, Yi has experienced the liveliness of a leading dancer in her studio, the drive of a strong badminton player, the wonder of an explorer of faraway lands, and the balance of an advanced Yoga student.

Thanks to the very dynamic and supportive society of Toasters R Us, Yi is even starting to enjoy crossing another one of her formidable frontiers -- public speaking using a second language. For those of you who are interested in the club, but still hesitate to give it a try, listen, if Yi can do it, so can you.

January 2008: Yuan Chen

Here's what Yuan Chen says about himself:

My name is Yuan Chen and I am a Toastmaster since December 2007.

I prefer to live a simple while fulfilling life. As a non-native English speaker, constantly improving my spoken English is one of my goals. Toaster R Us provides me an engaging, friendly, dynamite environment that I have the freedom to practice my public speech techniques, while the peer members give me constructive feedbacks for my improvement. I would only wish I had joined the club earlier

December 2007:Frank De Meersman
Here's what Frank says about himself:
My name is Frank De Meersman and I am a Toastmaster since September 2007.I am born and raised in Belgium, which is in the heart of Europe. After living for more than 5 years in California, we returned - for family reasons - back to our native country in 2006. I am married and have 2 boys: Yiannis is 8 and Matteo is 3. He is our little American as he is born in the Bay Area. I am working as a remote CAE out of the Synopsys Belgium office. Obviously, I need to travel frequently to the Synopsys factory in Mountain View. And as the main color of the Belgian sky is predominantly grey throughout the year, it is clear that I do not dislike at all traveling to sunny California.

--Frank

Novernber 2007:Vaso Chatzi

October 2007: Chanda Dani

Chanda is also one of our new members who has made excellent progress with the club. Here's what Chanda has to say about her interests:

Gardening helps me get away from day to chores and busy work schedule. I have a rose garden with a variety of roses and I maintain it with great care. During peak summer, some of these rose plants have over 50 flowers. I also like traveling and have visited many of the national parks in US. I follow professional football and am a 49ers fan. Besides all this, I am also a mom of a 4yr old who keeps me busy with endless questions about everything under the sun.

September 2007: Denis Goinard
Denis is one of our very established members and has served the club in multiple officer roles, including as the President of the club. He won the TM of the year award in Area G5 for the year 2006-2007.

August 2007: Kim Fraser

Kim has recently joined Toastmasters and is enjoying her journey toward improved public speaking. She feels the team leadership, commitment to quality, and nurturing environment all contribute to the success of this Toastmasters club and the individuals who participate.

Kim has worked for Synopsys for six years and enjoys both her job, and the opportunity to contribute beyond her responsibilities by participating on the company's Corporate Giving Committee. This committee provides leadership for community volunteer activities for Synopsys employees and their families. She is a native of California, born and raised in the Bay Area, and greatly values time with family and friends. She is inspired by nature, acts of kindness, and the small miracles that occur every day. Music, dance, photography, and animals add much color and flavor to her world.

Here are some of Kim's favorite quotes:

* You are the only one who can use your ability. It is an awesome responsibility. ~Zig Ziglar

* You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call "failure" is not the falling down, but the staying down. ~Mary Pickford

* In relation to others, gratitude is good manners; in relation to ourselves, it is a habit of the heart and a spiritual discipline. ~Daphne Rose Kingma

July 2007: Vishnu Pendyala

Toastmasters is a great way to connect with our inner self among other things. We discover ourselves as we learn to present ourselves better to others. I thank the club for choosing me for the award this month.” – Vishnu Pendyala

Vishnu has been a Toastmaster for 4 years and is a founding charter member of the club. He contributed significantly to the Toastmasters cause in various roles. Vishnu believes in simple living and high thinking. He has been an enrolled student for most of his years so far, walks to work, and mostly eats self-cooked vegetarian food for the past several years. He enjoys traveling, being with people and knowing them. Vishnu has been practicing yoga for two decades now. Spirituality and volunteering are his other interests. He can recite several Sanskrit verses including the thousand names of Vishnu.
